During Thursday’s debate in the Democratic race for mayor, mayoral candidates Maya Wiley and Eric Adams got involved in a couple of heated exchanges related to public safety, policing and stop-and-frisk.

Wiley joined anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” on Friday to explain her police reform proposal in more detail.

“My point is, we can’t go back to what we know doesn’t work. This is a time when we have the opportunity to say. enough,” she said.

“Let’s have the right balance between keeping us safe, all of us, and making sure we’re also safe from police misconduct and violence. No more lazy policing. Let’s have smart and effective policing,” she added.
