A Queens man was killed Wednesday outside a corner store in Flushing, and police are now searching for his killer.
Investigators say Fernando Gonzalez-Chavez was shot in the face in front of a deli on the corner of 162nd Street and Station Road early Wednesday morning.
His friend tells us the 39-year-old recently fell on hard times.
"He feels bad when he sees me because I would tell him, 'You don't, if you want to change, you better change friends. Don't be in the corner with the people that drinking or drugs. You're never going to change it. You better go someplace, another state, you know, start a new life," his friend said.
Neighbors say it has become a dangerous area.
"They hang out in here, they drink, they smoke, and there's also being drugs sold here," said one person in the neighborhood.
No arrests have been made.
