Jurors have returned a guilty verdict in the trial of the man accused of killing NYPD Detective Randolph Holder back in 2015.

Tyrone Howard had been charged with first degree murder, and was found guilty on all counts, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. said.

"You saw the jurors crying with their decision as they looked at this family," Police Benevolent Association president Pat Lynch said with Holder's family after the jury reached the verdict.

Prosecutors say Howard opened fire on Holder in Oct. 2015 while the detective was investigating a report of gunshots in East Harlem.

The jury began deliberations March 1 after the defense finished its closing arguments. The trial started Jan. 30.

Jurors asked the judge to clarify the difference between aggravated manslaughter, and first and second degree murder.

They had also asked again for a readback of testimony from Holder's partner, who was with him at the time of the shooting.

NY1 is told Howard will be sentenced April 3. He faces life in prison for Holder's murder.

Holder was 33 years old. He was promoted posthumously to detective.
