NEW YORK — A man accused of stabbing a volunteer for the Eric Adams mayoral campaign in the Bronx was arrested Friday morning.

Gary Oliver, 34, is facing an attempted murder charge.

The city police department said he got into an argument with the volunteer before stabbing him several times with a knife in Mott Haven back on June 20.

The 42-year-old victim, who was not identified, went to the hospital in critical condition at the time of the attack, but is expected to recover.

Adams said the volunteer was stabbed multiple times with an ice pick and had to undergo surgery because of the attack.
