A man who lived at the apartment building in Glens Falls that was destroyed by fire last week is now accused of causing that fire.

Aditep Siriat White is facing charges of reckless endangerment and criminal mischief in the fire that happened on Friday at 14 Culvert Street. According to prosecutors, he threw a lit cigarette on a pile of clothes, then left the scene. He is not charged with arson in the case.

White is due back in court on Friday.

This fire was one of three the span of just a few days in Glens Falls. The first, on Tuesday on East Notre Dame Street, has been ruled as accidental. The Red Cross is helping 11 people displaced.

The cause is still undetermined in a fire over the weekend. On Saturday, flames broke out at an apartment building on Platt Street. Everyone was able to make it out safely.
