BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- City police have charged who they believe shot and killed one person and injured another on Mozart Street Wednesday morning.
Nicholas Chappell, 27, is charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder, Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski said Thursday. Chappell lives at the home where the shooting happened.
Daniel Sanborn, 23 of Whitney Ponit, was killed, and Jordan Doolittle, 26 of Windsor, was shot in the arm, but took down Chappell after the shooting, police said. Police said Doolittle could lose his arm.
Police have not yet said what led to the shooting, but said Sanborn was an innocent bystander and Chappell and Doolittle knew each other.
