Workers walked off the job at a Chipotle restaurant in the Bronx over coronavirus safety concerns.

Workers said an employee at the East 161st Street location in the Melrose section tested positive for the virus and management did not inform them.

"No email, no text message, no call — I had to hear it from a coworker that heard from another coworker, that heard from another coworker. It’s not fair for Chipotle to keep us working right now, knowing very well that there is an active case of COVID in Chipotle right now,” said an employee.

Chipotle confirmed to NY1 in a statement that one employee tested positive.

The location will be closed for thorough cleaning and all employees who had close contact will be quarantined with pay.
