Forget Proud Mary – how about Proud Adrianne? Tony nominee for Shuffle Along – Adrienne Warren is set to play rock icon Tina Turner in a new bio musical. “Tina” will feature a book by Katori Hall and direction by “Mamma Mia” alum Phyllida Lloyd. The show will open in London’s West End in April.
In casting news – Emmy and Golden Globe winner Anthony Edwards will make his Broadway debut in the revival of "Children of a Lesser God." Edwards – best known for his work on ER — will play opposite Joshua Jackson and Lauren Ridloff in the play. Opening night is set for April 11th.
