Is it a medical drama, a thriller or a cop show? Actually, it’s a little bit of all those and more.
"Temple," a Spectrum Series hit, is gearing up for its second season. And the murkiness doesn’t stop in the tunnels of London, where the story unfolds.
“In the end of season one, there’s a cliffhanger, as some people are shot, and then in season two, when we enter it, we realize he’s trying to cover all of that up,” said Mark Strong, who plays the leading role of Daniel.
Daniel is a surgeon who means well, but gets sucked into the underworld.
“Initially, he’s trying to help everybody and be a good person, but he just keeps making these terrible choices, or is forced into making choices that are so dubious that you are not sure whether he’s a good guy or a bad guy,” Strong said. "[But] maybe that’s what’s good about the show. We’ve actually struck on a character that is realistic."
And what’s more realistic and relatable than love and betrayal? Strong said the women in Daniel’s life will have things to talk about this season.
“They’ve all got great story lines, and I think you’re going to enjoy it," he said.
"Temple" was chosen as one of the best shows on TV by the New York Times. And it’s a Spectrum Series original, which means viewers can watch the episodes at their own pace.
Strong said even he gets wrapped up in his character’s twists and turns.
“I’m now an official surgeon. No, probably not. But I sort of worry that I might think that I can do surgery now," he joked.
Not to worry, though: for now, he’s going to leave the underground operations to Daniel. You can catch the all new season two of Temple starting Nov. 1, exclusively on Spectrum.
