I'm Stephanie Simon. You're never fully dressed without a smile. The Skivvies bring their stripped down comedic "undie rock" and Broadway's Rob McClure brings his debut show "Smile" to Feinsteins/54 Below this summer. We got a preview.
"I get teased a lot for my optimism, so I thought I would go back and sort of trace the influences on me personally that sort of represent that," said McClure.
"It’s all about the joy and the fun and the comedy of it all," said Lauren Molina of The Skivvies. "It’s not raunchy, it’s more like a pajama party!"
If you've never been to Broadway's supper club, let me explain the attraction. This is your chance to see Broadway stars be themselves, not their characters, like Jennifer Damiano from "American Psycho."
"I wanted to establish a little more of a relationship with my audience and get people a little bit of insight on who I am," said Damiano.
And in addition to seeing top Broadway performers you can also occasionally see a composer, like David Yazbek, doing his music, his way.
"If you want to get the root of things, if you want to feel the joy that I feel out of music, this is the place to do it," said Yazbek.
