James Caan, known for his signature role of Sonny Corleone in ‘The Godfather’ has died. The Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor also starred in ‘Brian’s Song’ and opposite Kathy Bates in ‘Misery.’
Caan was born in The Bronx and grew up in Sunnyside, Queens. He fell in love with acting and at age 19, began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in Manhattan.
