The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is celebrating its 125th anniversary.

When it opened in 1899, it was the world’s first museum designed specifically for children. Today it remains the oldest children’s museum in the world.

The museum is located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It serves 300,000 people a year with exhibits and programs in visual arts, music and performance, natural science and world cultures.

The museum’s president and CEO, Atiba Edwards, spoke with anchor Rocco Vertuccio Sunday morning on “Weekends on 1” about the milestone.
