DJ Cassidy is one of the most requested DJs in the country.

During COVID, he created the virtual "Pass The Mic" concerts. Rappers and R&B artists performed from their homes, entertaining fans who were on lockdown.

The New York City native was the DJ for the Democratic National Convention’s roll call of states last month.

Cassidy is currently gearing up for a major “Pass The Mic” concert, with dozens of artists to celebrate the 50th anniversary for of legendary New York radio station 107.5 WBLS.

Cassidy says he grew up listening to the station, and that’s how he got a sense of what was popular and important in R&B and hip-hop music.

The “Pass The Mic” concert will be on Nov. 8 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The DJ, who is also one of the top DJs around the world, joined NY1 Saturday evening to discuss more.
