Artists, DJs and fans across the hip hop world paid tribute to Fatman Scoop Saturday, after it was announced the 53-year-old DJ died after collapsing on stage at a show in Connecticut on Friday.

The cause of his death wasn’t immediately clear. The hype man was known for his club-ready collaborations, topping charts in Europe with “Be Faithful” two decades ago. He later lent his distinctive voice and vibe to hits by artists like Missy Elliott and Ciara.

Bronx rapper and TV host Peter Gunz joined anchor Dean Meminger to reflect on Fatman Scoop’s legacy.
