This weekend marks one year since the city skyline turned orange, as smoke from Canadian wildfires made its way down the east coast.

Now, climate scientists are warning this could happen again, and city agencies are working together to protect New Yorkers from future climate emergencies.

NY1 anchors Rocco Vertuccio and Shannan Ferry spoke with Daniel Zarrilli, special advisor for Climate and Sustainability at Columbia University, who served as the mayor’s chief climate policy advisor, about steps the city is taking. Zarrilli also reacted to the decision to suspend congestion pricing.
