Booms and air raid sirens sounded in Israel Sunday after Iran confirmed that it launched an extensive drone operation on the country.
A U.S. defense officials and two other U.S. officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said U.S. forces have indeed intercepted and downed some of the attack drones that were flying towards Israel, according to the Associated Press.
The attacks are part of an unprecented revenge mission after two Iranian generals were killed in an airstrike in Syria earlier this month, for which Iran has blamed Israel.
Kian Tajbakhsh, a professor of international relations at Columbia University, joined Dean Meminger Saturday night to discuss the potential impact of the attacks.
