It has been more than six years since the deadliest school shooting in American history at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.
Joaquin Oliver, 17, was one of the people killed that day.
His parents are now carrying on his legacy, making it their life's work to call for nationwide action on gun violence.
Joaquin Oliver's father, Manuel Oliver, co-wrote the show "GUAC, My Son, My Hero," which tells his son's story and demands gun reform. He is participating in the United Solo Theatre Festival this weekend.
Anchors Rocco Vertuccio and Shannan Ferry spoke with Oliver Saturday morning on NY1 about the show and his family's story.
