On Oct. 21, Target will close its East Harlem location for good due to alleged theft and organized retail crime. It is among nine stores in four states that will shutter next month.
In a press release, a spokesperson for Target said these stores are not safe for employees or shoppers and that persistent theft is contributing to “unsustainable business performance.”
Those who live in the East Harlem neighborhood say this new is a major disappointment, and they do not know where they will shop now.
