Republican Rep. George Santos and former President Donald Trump are facing separate legal battles in New York.

Santos, who pleaded not guilty to 13-charges last week, is accused of making false statements to Congress, wire fraud, theft of public funds and money laundering.

Meanwhile, a jury found Donald Trump liable last week for sexually abusing advice columnist E. Jean Carroll in 1996, awarding her $5 million in a judgment. Trump chose not to attend the civil trial and was absent when the verdict was read.

Former Manhattan District Attorney Jeremey Saland joined “News All Day” Wednesday to discuss what these cases could mean for both men’s future in politics.
