As President Joe Biden prepares to deliver his 2023 State of the Union address Tuesday night, Rep. Dan Goldman, who represents Lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss what to expect from the primetime speech.

It comes as recent polls have indicated Americans  may be starting to lose confidence in President Biden’s leadership.

A poll from the Associated Press and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds 37% of Democrats want to see Biden seek another term in office. That’s down from 52% before the midterms.

Broken down by age demographics, the poll finds Biden’s support for reelection is lower among voters 18 to 44, and somewhat higher among those 45 to 60 plus.

Rep. Goldman pushed back on the poll, saying the president’s record, including historically low unemployment numbers, are what voters really care about.
