After some hit-and-miss showers in the city Friday, rain and snow are expected to return to the five boroughs late Friday night and continue into Saturday morning.

By 10 a.m. Saturday, conditions should dry up, with a total accumulation of no more than an inch in some spots. There may be a dusting on grass and cars across the city.

Beyond the snow, an arctic air is moving in, which will lead to some of the coldest temperatures in many months for the first official day of winter, which is Saturday.

Highs Saturday will reach 35 before dropping into the teens Saturday night. The wind chill will be near zero at times.

On Sunday, the cold continues with highs in the mid-20s and lows again in the teens. Despite the cold, skies will be sunny and conditions will remain dry.
