With the holiday season fast approaching, the MTA is reminding drivers that they will soon contend with a glut of Gridlock Alert days in Manhattan. The agency’s advice: take public transit instead.
New York City will see a total of 15 Gridlock Alert days before the new year, starting with one on Wednesday, Nov. 20, according to the MTA.
The city’s Department of Transportation designates the busiest traffic days of the year — days when Manhattan’s intersections are expected to be overwhelmed with motor vehicles — Gridlock Alert days.
