There are less than six weeks until Primary Day in the race for mayor.
A new Marist College poll out Wednesday finds former Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a solid lead in the race for mayor.
In the first round of the ranked-choice voting primary, Cuomo is ahead of Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani by 22% points. A candidate needs to hit the 50% threshold to win.
The poll simulated the ranked choice rounds and found that by Round 5, Cuomo picks up enough points from City Comptroller Scott Stringer and City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams to put him over 50%.
Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, joined “The Rush Hour” on Wednesday to provide his analysis of the mayoral election.
