With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

“El Mago Pop”

Europe’s number one illusionist, Antonio Diaz, is making magic with his Broadway debut in “El Mago Pop.” Join Diaz as he takes you on a journey through some mind-blowing and spectacular illusions. Performances begin on Aug. 17.

“Just For Us” and “Good Night, Oscar”

Catch them before they close. Comedian Alex Edelman’s new solo show, “Just For Us” is set to shutter on Aug. 19. After being targeted online by antisemites, Edelman decides to go right to the source and goes undercover to attend a White Nationalists meeting in Queens. I promise this show will make you laugh. Edelman will play his final performance on Broadway on Aug. 19.

And don’t miss 2023 Tony winner Sean Hayes in his tour de force performance as the late pianist and comedian Oscar Levant in “Good Night, Oscar.” The show will close at The Belasco Theatre on Aug. 27.

Claybourne Elder and Michelle Collins

Now, let’s move on downtown to Joe’s Pub. TV and theater regular Claybourne Elder, who was last seen in the Tony winning revival of “Company,” is exploring his frisky side with his new cabaret act “I Want to Be Evil”. Expect to hear tunes made famous by Stephen Sondheim, Whitney Houston and more. Elder is at Joe’s Pub this weekend.

And sticking with The Public Theater hotspot, check out funny lady and TV and radio personality Michelle Collins in her new club act at Joe’s Pub from Aug. 16 through Aug. 22. According to press notes, Collins will present the audience with “stories, songs, slides, salacious details, and probably some meaningless giveaways from her travels”.
