With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway and beyond.

“Hell’s Kitchen”

Before the 2024/2025 Broadway season heats up, be sure to check out this new tuner by music powerhouse Alicia Keys. The show is inspired by Keys’ own story of growing up in Manhattan. It features some fan favorite Alicia tunes like “Empire State of Mind,” Fallin’," “Girl on Fire” and more. The show stars Tony Award-winner Maleah Joi Moon, Kecia Lewis and theater favorites Shoshana Bean and Brandon Victor Dixon. “Hell’s Kitchen” is playing at the Shubert Theatre.

This weekend, “On Stage” will feature a “Hell’s Kitchen” special with Alicia Keys and her talented company from the show. The special airs on Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

“TABLE 17”

Over at MCC, don’t miss the world premiere of “TABLE 17” starring Tony Award-winner Kara Young. In this new play by Broadway veteran Douglas Lyons, we meet Jada and Dallas who reunite for dinner to rehash everything from their romantic past.

“Odd Man Out”

At The Sheen Center, catch “Odd Man Out,” a sensory experience that takes audiences on a theatrical journey in complete darkness. The audience can expect to take a flight and meet a blind jazz musician traveling home to New York after years of self-exile. The show is playing through Aug. 24.

Christopher Sieber

On the cabaret front, don’t miss one of my favorite musical theater comedians, Christopher Sieber, who will be sharing stories and songs from his 14 and a half Broadway shows. This will include “Company,” “The Prom,” “Shrek” and more. Sieber is playing at 54 Below on Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.
