Two firefighters suffered minor injuries Friday while battling a massive fire in the Bronx.
Flames broke out just before 1 p.m. at a laundromat on Webster Avenue and 189th Street in Fordham Heights.
"The conditions on arrival were heavy smoke throughout the building. Fire was located up in the ceiling area, we call it the cockloft. Extensive fire in the ceiling throughout the cockloft area, throughout the roof area, spreading into the Domino's Pizza," said Tom Richardson, chief of fire operations with the FDNY.
"I got in close, I was looking and I'm like, 'Oh my God, the laundromat's on fire,'" said one person at the scene. "I'm known to this area, I've traveled around this area, I don't live in this area, but do I travel around here, so I was a little worried."
It took crews a little more than two hours to get the fire under control.
Officials are now working to determine how the fire started.
