A new program in the Bronx is looking to change the tune on crime in the borough.
It's called Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence, also known as BRAG.
The program, which is run by the non-profit Good Shepherd Services, brings kids off the streets and into a new, state-of-the-art recording studio to help curb crime.
Organizers say the program features a 12-week course for kids to learn the ins and outs of the music industry.
"Over the 12 weeks they'll be learning the music industry, music business, copywriting, how to put down bars and tracks and mixing all the music together," said David Caba program director.
"They're able to come here and be able to be yourself and that voice by being able to create by putting your vocals or anything you want to do on the track," said Marquell Byrd audio engineer.
The program is set to get started on September 11.
