Mayor Eric Adams spent last week touting the $112 billion city budget passed by his administration and the City Council.
It restored funding to libraries and early childhood education — both of which the Adams administration had initially said there would be cuts to.
City Council lawmakers made clear from the beginning that they did not believe massive cuts were necessary.
The long, back-and-forth process has officials criticizing the mayor and asking for reform. City Comptroller Brad Lander has recommended the process become more transparent and for the establishment of a rainy day fund policy.
Lander joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Monday to discuss more.
