9/11 On NY1:
A Day In Time

As part of NY1's 9/11 anniversary coverage, producer Jeremy Bitz and co-producer and editor Lloyd Foster created a retrospective on how NY1 News covered the events of that day.
Video clips can be viewed with the free Real Player.
When terrorists struck the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, it was the worst terror attack on U.S. soil in the history of the nation. More than 2,700 died and countless others were injured. The city's skyline was forever changed and the psyche of its residents was irrevocably altered.

For NY1 News, September 11 began with an eye toward politics, as anchors, reporters and producers began the station's coverage of the city's primary election. But soon that would all change.

"A Day In Time" provides direct access to NY1's on-air footage from that fateful day, with a moment-by-moment account of how events unfolded. In words and video, this is how NY1 News covered the events of 9/11.
