A multi-million dollar renovation of Lefrak City is nearly complete and NY1 got a tour of the upgrades.
The 70 million dollar project, which began back in 2012, is expected to be finished within the next couple of weeks.
A major revamp of the shared outdoor recreational facilities now feature a new resident-only pool, soccer field, as well as tennis and basketball courts.
Improvements were also made to building lobbies, corridors and individual apartment units.
This is the first major renovation of the development in the last 50 years and officials say residents seem to be happy with the results.
"They love what the future can hold for them here at Lefrak City. They see that the owner does really want this place to be a shining piece of central Queens," said David Bernhardt, General Manager, Lefrak City.
General infrastructure as well as security updates were also made.
A grand opening will be held Saturday.
