Hundreds of city firefighters are headed to Washington to call for the renewal of the Zadroga Act.
Many of the people who boarded a bus early this morning are suffering from September 11th-related illnesses.
Once in Washington, they will hold a rally outside the U.S. Capitol building.
They will urge Congress to renew the act and extend health care benefits for all first responders who got sick working at the World Trade Center after the attacks.
The Zadroga Act expired earlier this year.
