An outdoor food festival in East Harlem is open for the summer, with all the right ingredients for a good time.
Vendy Plaza, with award-winning street chefs, offered up its best dishes Sunday at the outdoor market space underneath the elevated Metro-North railroad tracks.
"This is really about bring back a historic public space here at La Marqueta in East Harlem," said Sean Basinski, director of the Street Vendor Project. "Bringing vendors here who want to work. They want to provide food and grow their businesses, try out their new recipes. Also, people from the neighborhood and around the city who want to come here and live in this public space."
Street vendors will be serving food at Vendy Plaza every Sunday through September 9.
