BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Police are looking for a man they say assaulted two people in Williamsburg over the weekend and are now investigating it as a hate crime.

A man captured on video early Sunday morning allegedly approached two men ages 29 and 34 on Metropolitan Avenue and made homophobic statements before assaulting them.

Police say he punched one man in the face and threw the other one against a tree.

They were both taken to nearby hospitals where one suffered a fractured shoulder, the other a broken finger.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, beige pants, and sneakers.
