Art will be on display next week in Brooklyn, as independent filmmakers connect with audiences through their movies.
One hundred and twenty-five films will get a chance to shine this year at the 21st annual Brooklyn Film Festival.
Organizers like Marco Ursino, Director of the festival, say the goal of the festival is to promote independent films worldwide and draw attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema.
"We want to focus on current events and we want to try and stimulate a conversation between the audience and the filmmaker." The ten day festival kicks off on June 1st. Screening venues will be at various locations throughout the borough, including Windmill Studios in Greenpoint.
