Spice lovers took the heat in Brooklyn this past weekend during the annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo.

The fiery festival featured some of the best hot sauces from around the world.

Participants got the chance to sample all sauces, which ranged from mild to medium to hot to unbearable.

The festival also featured lots of pepper products from dozens of vendors from as far away as New Zealand...and as close as Williamsburg.

"Everyone's making these super awesome sauces and it's really just small batch makers. And people like wow I didn't know hot sauce could taste so good. And the word spreads," said NYC Hot Sauce Expo Founder Steve Seabury.

"It's such a niche item and everyone has perfected it to make it their own and I just love trying different creations," said one show attendee.

Some tough taste buds were required for some of the events at the expo, including a spicy dumpling challenge, and "ring of fire" challenge.
