An East Coast rap icon was remembered Saturday in a new way after his daughter opened a clothing store in honor of Biggie Smalls.
T'yanna Wallace launched the boutique, "Label Us Notoriouss," Saturday night in Boerum Hill. It is a brick-and-mortar option, where the daughter of Christopher Wallace, also known as the Notorious B.I.G., sells her "Notoriouss" clothing brand, which started online in 2013.
The shop was packed to the brim Saturday as people enjoyed food, drinks, and music.
Other Wallace family members were on-hand to celebrate the opening as well and remember Biggie, who was born in Brooklyn, and killed in a drive-by shooting in 1997.
"This is a huge, huge, huge monument, huge milestone for her. We're happy for her, and we're just excited to be here," said CJ Wallace, Biggie's son and T'yanna's brother "Two S's for her individuality. She wanted to do something a little different but still be tied to her father, our father."
The unisex street wear line is said to be inspired by New York, which also inspired many of Biggie's lyrics.
