A nor'easter will develop later tonight and impact New York City on Wednesday with periods of rain and snow, which could be heavy at times during the afternoon. Newest model information shows a warmer storm with a track close to the coast. We are now expecting about 3 to 6 inches of wet snow to accumulate by the end of the day. Amounts will be even lower for Atlantic coastal areas. Winds will be gusting over 30 miles per hour which will make for a rough day for getting around.
The precipitation becomes steady just before sunrise and continues through the day and tapers off during the late evening. The heaviest rain and snow will fall during the afternoon. Once the storm exits we'll be left with chilly and breezy conditions into the end of the week.
