While many New Yorkers are getting ready to gather around the Thanksgiving table, some face challenges to having access to healthy food.

This is an issue that especially impacts older people.

High costs and transportation leaves about one in 10 New Yorkers over the age of 60 without reliable access to affordable and nutritious food.

But one local organization is making sure their plates are full this holiday season.

Citymeals on Wheels provides thousands of meals each year to homebound seniors.

Beth Shapiro, the executive director for the group, joined “The Rush Hour” on Wednesday to talk about their goals for this holiday season.
