Thanksgiving travel is just about to get underway.

The Port Authority expects 8.7 million travelers to use its airports and crossings during the Thanksgiving travel period, which is an increase of 6% from this time last year.

The agency expects 5.5 million vehicles to use its bridges and tunnels over the holiday period, and 3.2 million passengers to use its airports.
