After being kicked out of their home at the Connelly Theater, a nonprofit theater organization that fights for gender equity, has found a new home at Classic Stage Company.
The Connelly Theater’s landlord is the Archdiocese of New York.
The new guidelines from the Archdiocese prohibit work with themes that could be deemed as “inappropriate” by the Catholic Church.
Those new rules forced SheNYC Arts to find a new venue.
Danielle DeMatteo, the founder and artistic director of SheNYC Arts, was on NY1 last month, talking about the challenges the group has faced.
She joined “The Rush Hour” on Friday for an update.
