Israeli officials announced Thursday the death of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas and a reported mastermind behind last year’s Oct. 7th attack on Israel.

Michael O’Hanlon, director of Foreign Policy Research at the Brookings Institution, specializing in U.S. defense strategy and the use of military force, joined anchor Annika Pergament on “The Rush Hour” to discuss how Sinwar’s death could bring a new phase to the war in the Middle East.
