Mayor Eric Adams has pleaded “not guilty” to federal bribery, campaign finance and conspiracy charges.

If Adams does step down or is removed from office, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams would immediately become acting mayor.

As acting mayor, Williams would not have the full powers of the office.
