Climate Week is underway in the city.

It’s the biggest annual climate event of its kind — organized by people and institutions pursuing climate action.

The impacts of a changing climate are evident.

In the city, summer heat waves, along with heavy rains and flooding, have become regular occurrences.

While New York has taken some preventative measures like the increase in rain gardens, and installation of porous pavement, some organizations say the city and state are not doing enough.

Eddie Bautista, executive director of New York City Environmental Justice Alliance, joined “The Rush Hour” on Tuesday to talk about this and the organization’s 2024 NYC Climate Justice Agenda.
