Instagram began rolling out “Teen Accounts” that will be controlled by parents.

The accounts will have built-in protections that limit who can contact teens and what content they see.

The move comes as Instagram’s parent company Meta faces dozens of lawsuits alleging that it is deliberately feeding addictive content to kids.

Dr. Susannah Hills, pediatric ENT surgeon and assistant professor at Columbia University Medical Center, joined “The Rush Hour” on Friday to discuss how social media is impacting the mental health of young people.

Dr. Hills also discusses the study that is revealing more details about the health impacts of vaping, and while the CDC reported the lowest level of teen e-cigarette use in 10 years, now nicotine pouches are causing concerns.
