Historically, during the summer months before a General Election, presidential campaigns are ordinarily on “cruise control,” but this summer, politics have been anything but ordinary.  

The GOP came away from the Republican National Convention more “unified”, and democrats are working to quickly unify the party that has been energized since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.
