The decals will remain up for two to three weeks as the city prepares for a rare ticker-tape parade.

The parade, free and open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lower Manhattan. It will start at Battery Park and travel up Broadway to City Hall, through the “Canyon of Heroes.”

A lottery will be held in the next two days to distribute tickets for the City Hall ceremony.

This will be New York City’s first ticker-tape parade since 2021, when healthcare professionals and essential workers were honored for their service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the sports world, the most recent parade was in 2019, celebrating the U.S. women’s national soccer team’s FIFA Women’s World Cup victory. The New York Giants were honored in 2012 following their Super Bowl win, and the New York Yankees had a parade in 2009 after winning the World Series.

The celebration will continue at City Hall, and later in the evening, the Liberty will host a fan party at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The event is free, but tickets are required for entry.
