Ex-Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver is getting two extra months of freedom before he has to report to prison.
A judge agreed to push back Silver's surrender date from July 1 to August 31.
Earlier this month, Silver was sentenced to 12 years behind bars on federal corruption charges.
Prosecutors say he took millions of dollars in kickbacks and bribes, then covered it up by claiming the income as "referral fees" from work as a personal injury lawyer.
The judge also pushed back the deadline for Silver to start paying the $7 million in fines tied to his crimes. He'll have to start making payments by August 15th.
