With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. "On Stage" host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, Off-Broadway and beyond.
"Gypsy"
Curtain up and light the lights! The highly anticipated revival of “Gypsy” starring six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald begins previews on Thursday. The beloved musical about the ultimate stage mother - Mama Rose and her daughters - is being helmed by celebrated director George C. Wolfe. “Gypsy” officially opens on Broadway on Dec. 19 at The Majestic Theatre.
"Cult of Love"
Also beginning previews this week is the new play “Cult of Love.” In this holiday family play that’s been described as “August Osage County” with music, we meet The Dahl Family, who are gathering together for Christmas. Will it be their last? You’ll have to wait and see. The show features an A-list company of talent including Zachary Quinto, Mare Winningham, and Shailene Woodley. Previews begin on Wednesday at The Hayes Theatre on Broadway. Opening is set for Dec. 12.
"You Gotta Believe"
On Monday night, Seth Rudetsky and his husband James Wesley Jackson will co-host the 10th annual "You Gotta Believe" Stars for Foster Kids Fundraiser at The Town Hall. The benefit will feature appearances by Tony winner J. Harrison Ghee, Rosie Perez and others.

David Burkta
And finally from November 20-23, don’t miss Broadway veteran David Burtka in concert at 54 Below. David recently stopped by the "On Stage" studio to give me a preview.
"It goes into some raw moments of, you know, I did this 12 years ago and I'm in a completely different place now," Burtka said. "So I'm telling some stories that I've never told before, some scandalous stories that, that have come from my past and then, you know, singing some great songs through it.”
