Geoff Bennett has been Spectrum News' Washington, D.C. political reporter since 2013.
Geoff covers the White House, Supreme Court and Congress, while also reporting enterprise stories of interest to viewers in New York City, upstate New York, North Carolina and central Texas.
Geoff was previously editor of NPR’s Weekend Edition, where he was responsible for shaping the content and scope of the nationally broadcast morning news program. During the 2010 midterm and 2012 presidential elections, Geoff guided the program’s political coverage throughout the election cycles.
He began his journalism career as a production assistant and off-air reporter for ABC News’ World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. He later joined ABCNews.com, where he managed the web presence of the network’s flagship newscast and the Brian Ross Investigative Unit.
Geoff is the co-founder of a successful consulting firm that provides digital media solutions to a range of media and business clients.
He is an honors graduate of Morehouse College.
