A dangerous situation on the street has one Staten Island homeowner fearing for her safety. Our Susan Jhun has the details.

"If I look out my window, I see two telephone poles on a diagonal angle and about fifteen thousand wires."

It's a situation Staten Island homeowner, Christine Pavia says came about when wires were crossed, leaving these leaning telephone poles in front of her home.

"Before someone gets killed or before I lose half of my roof on my home, I'm asking to please come and finish the job," said Christine Pavia.

A job, Pavia says was started two years ago by Verizon when the company's old telephone pole was slanted by Hurricane Sandy, pulling wires off of her house. At that time, Pavia says Verizon came and put up a new pole.

"Instead of moving the wires from the old pole to the new pole, the new pole is simply holding up the old pole," she said.

"They took the first pole and said they were going to tie it to the second pole and they said 'well it's not going to fall but it's going to stabilize that pole until we can get the proper people out here to move all the wires.' Well, it's two years later, I don't know how long the rope lasts."

Pavia says her repeated calls to Verizon have had no effect.

We contacted Verizon and after looking into the situation a spokesman told us the company had the pole queued up for removal, but first a streetlight has to be removed by The Department of Transportation. We contacted DOT and a spokeswoman told us they are now working with Verizon to remedy the situation as soon as possible.

Hope for this frustrated homeowner who's waited long enough for this temporary fix to be made permanent.

We will keep you updated.
